I am back with another blog and this blog post is very close to me because I have struggled with acne since I was 12. I had just started a new school and my hormones decided ‘you know what you need is some spots which will just help with your confidence’ well little insight they didn’t but you probably guessed that. After 4 years of struggling with a lot of acne that never seemed to go away I have finally been able to contain it for the most part except for my period but you win some you lose some.
There is nothing to be ashamed of if you have acne and I am not by any means saying that you need to cover it if you have it but I am simply giving tips if you wanted to. The first thing is how to get rid of it because that’s what I always wanted to know.
- Wash your face with a gentle cleanser every day twice a day
This is super important because your skin needs to be cleaned of the day to day gunk that gets on it. A gentle cleanser is better because acne is sensitive and can react to harsh chemicals making it worse. You may be able to get away with only washing your face one a day depending on the severity of your acne but if you wear makeup I highly recommend twice a day.
- Drink a lot of water and eat cleanly
There is a lot of things I can suggest to you but this one is the one suggestion/tip that I know will work for everyone. Water cleans your skin from the inside and keeps it hydrated. Eating clean does the same, all of the salt and sugar isn’t good for your skin and believe me I learnt that the hard way. This can be a gradual change of introducing more clean food and drinking more water into your everyday instead of quitting eating junk cold turkey because we all know how hard that is.
- Gentle exfoliator and moisturiser
This is my final tip for cleaning up acne and it could be the most effective in a short time span. Using a gentle exfoliator cleans the skin deeper than a cleanser and gets off any roughness on your face. Moisturiser is one of the most important parts in any skin care routine because your skin loves hydration and will thank you for it. Moisturiser allows you skin to soak in vital ingredients to clean your face. Apply moisturiser generously before sleeping.
Now that we have established a few tips of getting rid of acne the next thing is how to cover it.
Concealer is a much more natural way of covering acne than foundation and can make it seem like you aren’t wearing makeup which is something foundation cant do.
- Light coverage foundation
If you want to use a foundation use a light coverage foundation because the chemicals and ingredients in that will be less harsh than those of a medium-high coverage foundation.
Okay so I have given some products to cover acne but the important things is to wash that makeup off thoroughly and not let it sit on your acne for very long because that can make it worse
So that brings me to the end of this blog. I hoped this helped or was enjoyable to read! I will be posting again soon.
